TDR Kotelnikov Freeware Plugin

TDR Kotelnikov Freeware Plugin

Hi there! I hope you had a great black Friday – Cyber Monday time :). Just got an email the other day from Tokyo Dawn Labs (I’m subscribed to their mailing list, if you are not you should!).

Tokyo Dawn Records (TDR) is the name of a tough little music unit meanwhile based in Munich, Germany. Established 1997 by Marc Wallowy and friends, TDR has been spreading soul futurism on the internet since its beginning. Now, they also develope GREAT plugins, and the best part of it is that some of them are Free or very affordable. For that reason I believe is worth mentioning and promote their work.
This is their last release TDR Kotelnikov, a great addition to any Home Studio or  Pro Studio, specially because they offer a great freeware version and a more improved /completed version called “Gentleman 40 €“. If you ever wonder how to get that “big ” “punchy” sound, well this tool will help you to improve and finalise the overall sound of your mix.

About TDR Kotelnikov
TDR Kotelnikov is a wideband dynamics processor combining high fidelity dynamic range control with deep musical flexibility. As a descendant of the venerable TDR Feedback Compressor product family, Kotelnikov has directly inherited several unique features such as a proven control scheme, individual release control for peak and RMS content, an intuitive user interface, and powerful, state of the art, high-precision algorithms.

With a sonic signature best described as “stealthy”, Kotelnikov has the ability to manipulate the dynamic range by dramatic amounts, while carefully preserving the original tone, timbre and punch of a musical signal. As such, it is perfectly suited to stereo bus compression as well as other critical applications.

The concept is “proudly digital” in the sense that it doesn’t try to emulate any previously existing device. This is the original!

BitterSweet v3 Freeware by fluxhome

BitterSweet v3 Freeware – The BitterSweet Transient Designer

[ AU 32 & 64 bit | VST 32 & 64 bit | AAX Native/DSP* | Merging VS3 32 & 64 bit** ]

BitterSweet v3 Freeware is a free software processing tool for managing audio transients. Turning the big wheel button on the sweet side, decreases the transients amplitude. On the bitter side the transients amplitude is magnified.

BitterSweet v3 Freeware is built around our latest 64-bit version 3 framework improving the processing performance dramatically. The graphic rendering in Bittersweet v3 is using a GPU-efficient 2D/3D graphic engine. The engine, introduced first in the Pure Analyzer System, is based on the OpenGL standard optimizing the audio-to-visual experience utilizing the GPU on the computer’s built in graphics card.

BitterSweet v3 also features a control for the signal to be processed. When the main position is engaged, the process affects the stereo signal. If Center is engaged, only the M signal of the internal MS matrix is processed. If stereo is selected, only the S signal from the MS matrix is processed.

Three transient detection modes can be selected. Varying periods of integration for transients can be accessed. A Link function is provided to compensate the output gain with respect to the transient processing setting.

Like all Flux:: plug-ins, it features 64 bit floating point processing, up to 8 channels and up to 8 FS (384 KHz). Center and Stereo Modes are only available in stereo processing (2 channels).
We hope you will enjoy this new tool and make your mix Bitter, or Sweet…

Neither Flux or iLok dongle, nor registration is required.

TDR VOS SlickEQ Free Plugin

TDR VOS SlickEQ Free Plugin  win/mac

Tokyo Dawn Records has just release a new free EQ plugin that just looks awesome! not just for the posibilities of use or quality but also for the great looking interface. Among all the free plugins available on the internet Tokyo Dawn offers probably if not the best some of the best available free plugins available today.

About TDR VOS SlickEQ

TDR VOS SlickEQ is a mixing/mastering equalizer designed for ease of use, musical flexibility and impeccable sound.

Three (and a half) filter-bands arranged in a classic Low/Mid/High semi-parametric layout offer fast and intuitive access to four distinct EQ modes, each representing a set of distinct EQ curves and behaviors. An elaborate auto gain option automatically compensates for changes of perceived loudness during EQ operation. Optionally, SlickEQ allows to exclusively process either the stereo sum or stereo difference (i.e. “stereo width”) without additional sum/difference encoding.

In order to warm up the material with additional harmonic content, SlickEQ offers a switchable EQ non-linearity and an output stage with 3 different saturation models. These options are meant to offer subtle and interesting textures, rather than obvious distortion. The effect is made to add the typical “mojo” often associated with classy audio gear.

An advanced 64bit multirate processing structure practically eliminates typical problems of digital EQ implementations such as frequency warping, quantization distortion and aliasing.

Beside the primary controls, the plug-in comes with an array of additional helpers: Advanced preset management, undo/redo, quick A/B comparison, copy & paste, an online help, editable labels, mouse-wheel support and much more.

REVIEW TDR FEEDBACK COMPRESSOR II by TOKIO DAWN RECORDS

Hi everyone, I just wanted to write a short post of an amazing free plugin I discovered yesterday,I was watching a Logic Pro X video tutorial in youtube about mixing, and I saw that the guy was using this amazing vst pluging compressor, so I went to try to find information on the web. My surprise was when I found out that is FREE, powerful and available for MAC and Windows.

About TDR FEEDBACK COMPRESSOR II:

The TDR Feedback Compressor II is a major design update of its critically acclaimed predecessor. The compressor is dedicated to compressing the highest fidelity stereo program (2-buss), but equally shines in classic mixing tasks.

Most modern compressors analyze the input signal to control gain reduction, using a “feed-forward” topology. TDR Feedback Compressor II, however, analyzes the output. This approach delivers an unobtrusive and highly musical compression characteristic.

TDR Feedback Compressor II takes this traditional compression topology to new heights with a highly flexible, yet intuitive control scheme. The compressor has been carefully tuned for intuitive and musical operation for almost every situation.

We want to emphasize the fact that the processor neither tries to emulate any previously available device, nor does it follow popular trends like “virtual analogue”, “circuit modeling” or similar buzz words. This is a proud digital processor, made with an immense amount of love and care.

Notable features:
-Beautiful “Feed-Back Compression” sound and behavior
-64bit floating point precision for all relevant calculations
-Multi-rate processing structure for highest accuracy, critical operations run up to 8 times the audio rate
-Delta oversampled signal path (bit transparent at 0dB gain reduction)
-Three side-chain filter slopes: 3dB/Oct, 6dB/Oct and 12dB/Oct
-Super fast and natural sounding compression
-Unique control scheme with independent release controls for peak and RMS events, as well as a compression Crest Factor control
-Advanced stereo linking options optimized for the stereo bus
-Delta preview mode to preview the difference between compressed and original signal
-Latency compensated parallel bypass (i.e. processing not interrupted)

What they say:

Features detailed control of compression behaviour, extremely low distortion and almost ‘invisible’ compression

Bootsie

Offers a wide array of controls to dial the sound in just right and leaves you with the original sound, only louder.

Lean Audio (A+ rating)

A highly competent compressor plugin that can stand proudly head to head with its paid alternatives

freemusicsoftwareguide.com

This thing might be the best compressor I have, even better than my Slate Virtual Buss Compressors, Vintage Warmer and Kush UBK-1. It’s absurdly good on the mixbuss, and has the kind of weight only hardware typically has

Dave Edwards

TDR Feedback Compressor II is among the best software compressors for bus use out there.
